Rebuilt ATX w/Shift-Kit always shifts at 4K

I just installed a Ford rebuilt ATX w/Shift-Kit and it always shifts at 4K? Did I forget to hook something back up? I used the VSS from the old tranny that would 1-2 shift at 7K.

Check your MLP sensor, aka neutral safety switch, aka PRND21 sensor. It's at the end of the shift cable.

I am not sure how to check the MLP? I thought you had to align it somehow?

The $#@*%@ VSS was unplugged near then oil pressure sender. Everything is hunky dory now except for my pride.
