I'm tossing around the idea of rebuilding and modifying 1 of my 3.4s. I have 2 engines, and tore one down over the weekend for giggles.

The only gasket set I can find is a DNJ brand on Ebay for $1k.

I also remember reading somewhere that the engine bolts (not sure which ones) were only good for one time usage.

If you've got any leads on a gasket set or the various hardware please let me know!

Ford gasket set part number is F6DZ6008AA. Im sure one will show up eventually. May have to check with your local ford dealers. Usually they have parts stashed in a local warehouse

If they aren't leaking, upper/lower intake gaskets can be reused. You could put a sealant of your choosing if there is any concern. I've removed mine numerous times with no issues. Just had the hose to one of my heads blow last week.

Suggest getting the metal 3/8" Y-Adapter and upgrading to silicone hoses if you are in there.

Be carefull in which metal it will be made. This kind of "Y" can be found in numrerous metals. Some are too soft, some have a too low melting point (aluminium for computers). The best is brass.

There are old posts with this info. You can also look at the v8sho website and see if the brass Y is posted there. I bought a brass one a dozen years ago. You just have to look for the right size archived somewhere.

I don't want to make mileage on that but when I made searches for what kind of Y I have to put there, I found no info on V8SHO site (maybe I missed something but I rode around 90-95% of the stock there). I add this remark to help future owners in not sending them there in hope to find info the subject. For this, most of the infos are on this site.

I also made this precision because I bought one Y that came from China... I was painted gold to let think it was in brass (!) but it was something like stain (soft and not magnetic), a lot less reliable for the purpose. (I always had a doubt with all that coming from China, even more today.)

(No offense luigisho and I always read your experienced comments with a great attention.)

Interesting... Your example is exactly what I'm saying. It's said made from brass, but if you read until the bottom of the page, you will read that it made from nickel and only plated with brass... (In this case, nickel is ok with a 2 651 F melting point.)

Scratching a small surface to see the color and put a magnet on it is a good double check (nickel is magnetic).

All I can say is the one made by Phobe is metal, painted black. So it won't crack, which is what I was going for. One could swap it out for some AN -6 Y-adapter that uses a compression fitting. It may be bulkier though.
