Sir the junkyard man is here for you, first off, I know your pain and I am sorry to hear that, I was rear ended by an off duty cop 10 years ago, no attempt at braking, I was at a dead stop she was doing 40, totaled my car, I got a whopping 12k plus medical and car replacement, she got a promotion to detective.
as for your rear bumper guard, can I see a picture of your car? to get an idea of the style youre after. my first thought is if you have the setina push bar (or similar) then you are not apposed to an external tubular guard which they did or do make for the taurus. I've seen them on "Cops" during pursuits but a quick internet search brought me nothing. however, the crown vic does have some options, if function over form is your goal then you can get away with a simple oval tubular bumper guard that seems pretty universal. if you want something more "Mad Max" and form fitting then I have a vision I can try to relay but i dont think it can be found on go-rhino. all depends on what you can live with.
The crown vic one wraps or is just basic and flat, the dimensions should be similar to the taurus but how it would look would be hard to say but I made a quick rendering

literally just used paint to edit this so might have to squint to see the potential, obviously the mounting bars are an issue but with real dimensions and real products that can be remedied, still a question of what you want for a look.

My "vision" is more mad max and less refined as a rendering but its an idea

or with more cross bars

yes the renderings look like a bored 7 year old did them but thats my idea for full rear coverage. itll probably set off the parking sensors so maybe an additional plate to mount them in to the guard itself and itll probably weigh an additional 150-200lbs and with that weight the bumper cover will probably have to be cut to add upper supports to keep it from shaking and from crushing the rear of the car during an impact BUT whoever hits you will definitely be in worse shape. I'd tie the bottom together at the exhaust mounting points (I think thats where the hitch goes if its added and is as structured as it gets for a unibody car) and then notch under where the bumper meets the tail lights and rear quarter panel to tie in a total of 4 smaller mounting straps. that should control shaking and increase rigidity. the bars would contour the rear of the car in angles rather than sweeps and be spaced off 1-2 inches. I am not an engineer, I dont know physics, but I know overkill and if executed with the right steel and right mounting this thing could take a hit.
