Well, I've done the water pump and the CPS and the three belts. The other weekend I spliced in new brake lines from under the rear drivers door to the "control box" in the rear.

I've bled the brakes on the rear of a sable and know that you have to have the car suspension up to compress the push rod....So I lower the SHO on blocks in the rear, but the spring ain't compressed on the push rod and no fluid is coming out of the caliper.

Is the push rod on that rear valve adjusted wrong? It would seem so to me since its loose with the car down. How do I fix/adjust it? shrug

Any advice will be greatly appreciated...The car has been on "stilts" in the garage for 2 weeks now (as I'm in school). I now believe this brake line splicing is worse than doing a water pump squint

It could also be that the rear flex hoses have collapsed and not letting the fluid flow to the calipers.

I was wondering about the rear hoses collapsing/swelling. I had to replace them in the sable when I did the rear breaks. I guess I'll try bleeding with the wheels on the ground this afternoon and see if that makes a difference

Thanks.

After helping my brother replacing the clutch on his maxima, i've finally gotten back to my SHO...

I leveled the car (front wheels on the ground), and have the rear also lowered with the suspension compressed. The rear brakes still wont bleed. Is there any reason for the rubber hoses at the calipers to swell up sunddenly?

Also, the lever on the proportioning valve appears to be slightly loose, even with the suspension compressed? Is it screwed up? I know they all worked before the rear lines rusted out (and caught me by surprise on my way home from school...when the brake pedal sinks to the floor something is wrong.).

Right now I'm thinking maybe the proportioning valve is adjusted improperly — why it would be out of adjustment I have no idea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...I'm getting tired of driving a sable...

Got the rear right bled.....but now the brake is stuck on.

I'm just gonna replace the rubber hoses....when teh hoses on the sable swelled, the brakes were stuck on, and with the small amount of fluid that comes through it seems they must be swelled.

Guess it'll be a little while longer...

Next is a new gas tank, fuel pump, and then the valve cover gaskets and plug well seals, and spark plugs and wires and...

Then — mods
