yeah for some reason that tends to be the norm with them. you'll get your stuff though, don't worry. they just don't like wal-mart money orders.

I went through the same thing. I got e-mail replies BEFORE the order no problem. But once the order was placed, they would not reply. After a little over a week, I started thinking the same thing, and then the parts showed up. Just be patient, it's just how they work.

This is pretty normal from what I gather. It took them almost a month to get me my $1000 order and they never responded to any of my emails until a fews days before my parts arrived and that was only to tell me that I was a pain in the a$$ and that they would not forget it. They may have a good rep on this forum but I won't be using them again.

If you havent figured it out these cars/ engines are a dying breed. These guys are not getting rich suppling parts to such a small market. If you want a car that you can go online and have parts at your door step the next day you need to go buy a mustang or camaro.

I think we forget we are not dealing with large auto chains like Autozone, Napa, or Advanced. Most of these guys are doing this on the weekend between real jobs. They dont have access to large supply network and depend on other small guys to supply them.

Building a SHO engine / car is a pain... plain and simple. Unless you are making part yourself you just have to wait.

When you email them on whats going on they have to email someone else, until they get updated info they cant tell you anything.

No its not the best way to run a bussiness but its all we have. Sooner or later these few suppliers are going to get tired , fewer sales every year and the hounding from customers they are just going to say screw it. No more SHO parts.

My self... I have parts on back order, I have been lead astary with promiss of deliver times. I understood this when I started this engine project so no need in ********.

I am extreamly gratefull to all the people that helped me but together an engine that I have been wanting to build ever since I worked for Ford back the ealry 90s. After 17 years a few more weeks wont hurt.

RCM has always come through for me... although they are not real good with the communication but thats okay with me. The first time it kinda worried me but I would not hesitate to spend much more money there in the future.

You know, it's BS responses like this that drive me nuts. I understand backordered parts. I understand that parts are getting harder and harder to find. I understand delays and having other responsibilities and I understand that EVERYTHING with this car takes time. What I don't understand is how it can be so hard to send a quick response to an email. Or better yet, let you're customer know when there is a delay so they don't have to sit and wonder what happened to their money!

When I ordered my parts, I was told that everything was in stock and I would have the parts in a week. I didn't start emailing until 2 weeks later and still got no response! All I needed was some communication. They were sure quick to reply before they had my money!

This is just bad business. They made the decision to get into this business. They aren't doing me any favors by SELLING me parts. It's just business 101. Good customer service brings back the customers. Everyone here just says "oh well, that's just the way they are", so they keep doing it. Why not? You'll just happily come back anyway like good little sheep! I don't get it. Rockauto sells just about everything they do for pretty much the same price and their customer service is fantastic! There is no reason to accept crappy service. Like I said before, I won't be using them again. Not when there are others out there that are happy to serve me.

If you can respond to every email up until the sale then you can respond to after-sales emails too. I'm all for supporting the few vendors we have but this has been an ongoing saga with RCM. They are happy to answer your questions until they have your money and then they disappear until you receive your parts.

There's no excuse for that. You don't get to hen peck the emails you're going too respond to and the trend is very obvious.

Owning an obscure car is no excuse for a company offering no post-order communication. There's one phrase for that: bad business.

Well said Mike.

RCM has had this problem as long as he's been around. He's never been a supporter of this forum and just skirts the paid advertiser program by having others do his bidding.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there is nothing RCM sells that can't be found directly via NAPA, RockAuto, or other vendors for the SAME PRICE OR LESS.

You just don't get it. I'm not concerned with the amount of time it took to get the parts. I think all of us understand that our cars are difficult at best to find parts for but customer service should not be thrown out the window just because our cars are "rare". You do what you want. That's fine but the OP asked about it so I gave him MY opinion. Obviously I'm not alone. :thumb:
