Does anyone know how to increase the range of the keyless entry remote? Mine works from about 10 feet or less, I've seen others whose remote works from much further.

Of course, I've replaced the batteries, so maybe the remote or the receiver are defective, but maybe there is a way to extend the antenna.

Where is the antenna? It should be as high as possible and not blocked by metal.

i dunno how to make it work better, get an aftermarket system, or get one off a new model car.......my remote entry only works from like 2 feet away. thumbs_u
on the 99 sho, the keyless entry works from inside the house. it will unlock the doors when the car is sitting in the garage, that is not even attached to the house...

Same here - 2 feet sometimes! But my '00 Explorer - I can be all the way across a parking lot and it still works!

My remote does the same thimg, anywhere from 10 or less. And it still gives me a hard time up close. I have to be pointing it towards the trunk to even work. I exchanged my remote{1 month old} at a Ford dealership today and couldn't get it programmed. The guy who helped program it last plugged the connector your supposed to jump together and today I couldn't get my locks to cycle when I tried to jump the pins. So tomorrow I'm going back to Ford to get my old remote back and I pray that it will still work.

I know this is gonna sound goofy but, if you hold the remote up to your ear and hold your other arm straight out, it will increase the range of the remote. Don't believe me, try it.

And put new batteries in the remote, that always helps.

A friend showed me that also, I thought he was crazy but it really works.
