Ran Codes and...

Ran my codes and got a 647, my Chiltons stated "Incorrect gear ratio obtained for 3rd gear". What is this telling me? I just got back from a 1300 mile trip in 4 days, and my tranny has been acting very strange since my return. Thanx, Doug

Playing with my tranny today and observing its behavior I noticed it will not shift into 3rd gear. I understand that it is bypassing the gear because of the problem, does this = new tranny? Could this be the VSS? Thanx,

Disconect the battery and reset the computer. Drive it for a while and see if it shifts into third. The tranny could have just burped for second causing the computer to change the shifting (I am praying for you man that that is the problem.) If not it sounds like you blew a seal around the 3rd valve causing it to malfunction which means tranny rebuild frown
