radio problem

the other day when i turned on the car i noticed that the radio was on but there was no lights. what i mean is that there is no display on the radio or the climate control lights. sometimes the display will come on for a bit then go off and sometimes it stays on the whole time i drive it. the radio still works and the climate control still works but there is no display. the display comes on when i turn on the lights but when i turn off the lights the display turns off. thanks tj

Try whacking the ICP (radio) a couple of times. If it starts working again you'll need to replace it or take it apart and try to fix the flex connectors.

it has to be a bad connection somewhere, either the wires or inside the radio somewhere

Mine is doing the exact same thing, started a couple of days ago. Got agressive and slapped the top of it and the lights came back on. I am probably going to take it out and check everything. Maybe it will be a loose connection somewhere. Have to get the remove tools though as I don't have them yet.

WHen mine did that the battery was dying, of course it didn't become intermitient, just went off until I replaced the battery. You might also look at the dimmer switch circuit as that controls the displays intensity.
