My radio/CD/bluetooth have not worked for a few months now and Ford will not cover under warranty. They stated the below part number would fix the problem.

DG1T-19C107-CG

I ordered this part and was sent the below part number.

DG1T-19C107-DG

is there a difference between the CG and the DG part numbers or are they the same? I hope someone can help me out. I dont want to install if these are not interchangeable.

Thanks in advance.

If no reply here I would call a local dealer and ask them to cross ref the part numbers

That was my next try, but I dont trust them as they waited 6 weeks to order my part just so my warranty would expire. They ended up ordering the part after I physically walked in there 3 days after my warranty was up. I called 7 times prior to get them to order it and they kept saying they did, but in reality they never ordered it.

I always do that in person whenever possible as I don't trust other people's prioritizing or ability to multitask. ie forget/ignore my stuff.

Yeah I will from now on, but at this point it's too late. Just sucks as I wanted this car from the time it came out and has been nothing but problems. Turbo replaced 3 times, 2 coil packs, rear shocks, rear view camera and now the radio issue all before 80k miles. I love the car when it works, but I feel like it's in the shop more than I get to enjoy it.

Sadly, bad dealers abound. As far as part number, could be a newer revision. You can go to any online dealer site, parts.ford.com, or tascaparts.com for example. Enter your VIN, then punch in the part number to check the fitment.

Yeah. the vin really helps. Got me the right driver seat cushion and cover to match the interior correctly for my '14 f150 from Tasca yesterday.

Call the Ford Customer Service 1-800 number, and tell them you reported the issue before the warranty expired. If the dealer wrote it up and put it in the computer before the warranty expired, they may reimburse you for the parts, or even the labor to put it in. If the dealer did NOT write it up before the warranty expired, you might still have some leverage with Customer Service. It's at least worth a try.

I dealt with a great service manager at a local Ford dealer, who when I asked about an issue and I was coming up on the end of the warranty, he said "we'll write it up now before the warranty expires, and it'll be covered". Of course, that service manager was gone in 6 months, he was probably way too helpful ;)

So I called Ford last night and they could not tell me the difference between the 2 parts. They did search by VIN and apparently my car is the CG and not the DG. However, I went to parts.ford.com and tascaparts.com at the part numbers aren't even coming up as a valid part number. Attached is the slip from Ford showing the part number. Does anyone know why it would not show up valid on Fords part website?

You called Ford dealer or Ford main number? You need a really good parts guy that will dig. Also the parts.ford website has a live chat option 9a-7p eastern to try out. Keep your vin handy. The other place to look for interchange would be a parts recycler. I would imagine if they ordered your part according to VIN that the correct one should be there. However, I agree with your verify approach.

A search on eBay does turn up the DG as a valid part number for used parts. So it must exist in some universe!

both turn up in used parts searches. New part searches not so much which is weird. I also see with the used part sellers that they post suffix DC-DG compatible but nothing on CG. You have to make sure the features are the same and a good ford parts person should be able to get to the bottom of it with the VIN.

There are alot of variances in same model cars across just a few years so when anyone has a question year and other pertinent info is always better. i.e. which sync, sony, non sony, navigation etc

So I just wanted to update everyone. Per Ford based on the VIN, the CG is the part listed for my car. However, I spoke to a couple retailers and the DG is interchangeable with the CG part number. I installed the DG today and it fixed everything. Radio, bluetooth, CD, etc are all functioning now. I appreciate everyones quick input on this issue. FYI though, you need to take apart the entire dash, center console and interior panels around the steering wheel to access the part. All in all it took about a hour and a half to get everything done.
