Do you believe in gremlins? My dimmer switch doesn`t dim the lights,up is on,and when you turn it down a bit,the lights go off,not dimmer. When the lights(interior)are off,the radio will play, but no sound will come out until i turn the lights on again. Now,my rear drivers speaker will go SSSSSSSSS with the radio on or off, until the headlights go off. What the heck do you guy`s think? With the radio on,and the dimmer all the way up,everythnigs fine, but i want to fix all these "little" things.

Weird ... I had a bad problem with my dimmer switch last year. All i did was replace the tumbler for it and it works fine since. (knock on wood)

When I bought blue, I had no brake lights, the rear amp rack would not work, And the hazards would not work.

I first tackled the brake lights and found the hot wire of the BOO switch on the brake was not powered. So I spliced in a new 12V source and low and behold the brakes, hazards and amps started working.

Now I dont have reverse lights, nor dash lights, Time to find that magic wire.....

Jeremy, if you have Gremlins, they are probably too busy laughing their ***** off... You have alittle thing that they probably got preoccupied with....Hence the "SSSSSSSS"

Missed it when I did mine also. I flipped out and thought I didn't have reverse, I did, just no connected switch. It's on the casing facing vertically, right next to the fender.

I had a similar problem with my '94 SHO. My problem was that the dome lamp could not be turned on with the dimmer switch.

I took the dimmer switch panel out by taking the big panel under the steering column off first and then reaching behind, pushed on the back of the dimmer switch panel (it just pops out). Disconnect the electrical plugs and you can get the whole assembly out.

I then took the dimmer switch apart. The plastic cover comes apart once you release the fingers. There was a fair amount of corrosion on the contacts. I took a Dremel tool with a small wire wheel and using a low speed, applied a small amount of pressure (just enough to get the corrosion off).

Once clean, I used a battery terminal cleaner compound and applied it with a cotton swab. I left a thin coating of the compound on all the electrical contacts. This compound prevents that corrosion from reappearing and also acts a lubricant. You could also use a silicone dielectric compound.

Just reassemble everything and you should be good to go.

Larry
