Well guys, the radiator on my car is leaking. Actually not exactly the radiator.

Looking at the radiator from the top then to the left side (passenger) and then down, there is a metal line that connects/screws to the radiator way before the lower rubber hose that goes to the water pump, kinda at like the height where the alternator is.

Question is... to where does that line go and what is its purpose?

It seems that it bolts/screws to the radiator and that's where the coolant is leaking out.

It would seem that it can be repaired and not replace the whole radiator... you guys have any experience on this??

Your radiator is leaking. Period. The lines you are looking at are your trans cooler lines and they will not leak coolant. You have a crack on your radiator and it just looks like its coming from that line.

I guess I will have to start looking for a new one and try to make this one last a bit more.

Now would be the time to look into getting a solid aluminum one. You can find them on Ebay.

I thought I had only seen ones with plastic tanks/sides.

I'll look into those solid aluminum ones. Thanks for the info man! :)

When you search dont search for "SHO", just search for Taurus Aluminum Radiator. You will overpay if you search for SHO specific. I just bought a solid aluminum one a few weeks ago for $120 shipped. I dont know what they will charge to send it down your way though, but it would definitly be worth it in your climate.

Oh I thought it was SHO specific. Then I guess I can look for one here locally. The Sable was sold here for a few years with the 3.8L. So that should also be the same radiator right?
