Hey, I'm new to this forum and just want to say that I have been glued to my monitor the past couple of days reading all that I can, and I'm really impressed with how much feedback goes on in here. I frequent on the shotimes forum but this will be my first post on this forum. So I'd just like to say hi to everyone.

What I actually need to know right now is about the upper rad hose. I have an 89 that needs the upper replaced. The hose that I got from the local ford dealer is part number, (I live in Canada, if it makes a difference  ) F1DZ-8260-C (Motorcraft number KM-2010). It is shaped a little different but all-in-all it looks as if it would fit, but appears to be short by a half inch or so. From what I can tell this part number is for a taurus SLO, the part number i found for the SHO is E9DZ-8260-A. Also if i search for a 95 MTX the part number I get is F5DZ-8260-FA (Motorcraft number KM-3084), Is there a difference between the 89 and 95 upper hose? What hose do I need for my car?

When the parts guy took my order he even took down my VIN so he wouldn't order the wrong hose. Why is dealing with Ford so hard?:smash:

These cars were tossed overboard by Ford years ago...

Welcome aboard!

An excellent resource for Ford part numbers is the website of www.shonutperformance.com especially the "Old Website" section.

Once you have the Ford part number, www.fastpartsnetwork.com is a good source for purchasing them if you prefer to stick with OEM parts where available.

im not sure if there would be a difference in upper (and lower for that matter), rad hoses between ATX (Auto) and MTX (stick), transmission SHO's...i would have to say yes though...i have heard ATX drivetrain is closer to the firewall(?) due to the size of the ATX

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the upper hose in a 89 MTX and a 95 MTX. I don't know to much about the differences between a gen one and two, but if I remember right, there is something under the hood by the upper hose on a gen 2 that is not there on a gen 1, and the only thing I can come up with is it might be the computer re-located there instead of behind the glove box, and this may have made a difference between the two hose's and even possibly the rad. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks.

i bought the upper hose for my 91 at my local parts store. i had to cut a few inches off one end, but its an identical piece. IIRC, the part number was M-381
