What's this hose for?

So I am working on installing a sub box in my trunk. When I pulled back the trim piece to access the Sony DSP I found this just hanging out. Anyone know what it is and where it should connect to?

Does it really just terminate into that space? Or is there a spot it should be connected to? I'm googling it and am just finding videos/pics on how to clean it

No. It should connect somewhere around the rear tire, I think.
