No it's not what you are thinking. Sometimes when I am just sitting in my SHO with it idling I hear a slight thudding sound in the rear of my SHO, more or less the trunk area. I was wondering if this could be some evidence of fuel delivery problems. I know that this is kind of vague but I am going to measure the fuel pressure tonight and will see what I find.

Where it's happening at idle, I'd suspect a loose exhaust pipe/muffler. Have you checked your spare tire to make sure it's secure?

I have the same problem... i suspect it to be a fuel pump going out- and i also notice it that it really thumps when my fan goes on- like current causes the thump or something to that affect.. but yes i have it to and its so annoyning- if anyone can help that would be cool

I was also thinking it was the fuel pump. I didn't have time to check the fuel pressure before it got dark but will do so when I get the chance. Everything is secure, although I have a lopey feel to my SHO at idle. It doesn't show on the tach but you can definitely feel it as well as hear it.

Listen carefully to the sound. Does it sound like a gurgling or rumbling from inside the tank?

If so, it's the check valve on the fuel return line side.

I have the same sound on my 94atx. I thought it could be a slight backfire, or it sounds like the tank poping in(ie vent theory). I have changed my 02 sensors tonight and I will see if I get that backfire pop tomorow.

ps. My car runs so much better now that I changed them.

I changed my 02 sensors last night, and today I don't get that thud at an idle.

I suspected the noise was a quite backfire. In my case that seemed to be it.

I get a good thud from the back of my car....actually, I used to to get two. One was the struts....

the other one has to do with the brakes....I think I have a problem with the biasing valve squint
