Hello everyone,

I just thought I'd share a quick little update of what I've done so far since I've had my SHO for 4 months, and current future plans.

DONE...
1. She has a name, it's Trinity
2. BOV Mod
3. LED Headlight conversion
4. Installed switchbacks
5. Audio system installed
6. Converted all interior lights to LED
7. Installed boost Guage
8. LED "Projector" puddle lamps
9. LED reverse lights
10. LED License plate lights
11. Retinted the windows to less than 5%

Future plans...
1. I don't want to buy "off the shelf" so I am going to build my own custom cold air intake
2. Same thing with the exhaust system.
3. She had brand new brakes when I bought her so when they are done, i will be installing drilled and slotted rotors with carbon pads.
4. She also had new tires so when they are worn, I will install new wheels and tires (not sure on brand or style yet though)
5. Adjustable coil overs (maybe airbags)
6. Programmer and tune (not sure from where yet)
7. Wrap the interior panels with either vinyl or fabric (still undecided on the direction I want to go)

Thanks for reading, let me know what you think.

Programmer and tune (not sure from where yet) SCT and find one of from the many - caveat if you remove cats the mainstream tuners won't tune out O2. But that is an issue for any tuning device.

Check people's signatures for their mods - you can get tried and true mods and the ideas.

Take my advice of CAI - it was my first purchase, out stock turbos can't utilize all that air, and many open to the engine compartment designs will suck in hot air. Keep the stick and throw in a KN for the airbox

I thought about foregoing the CAI and putting a k&n panel filter in, but, I love the induction noise from a cone and I was planning on building a box to keep the heat out anyway. In the past (when I lived in upstate new york) I built a Cai for my focus and I stuffed the cone in the cavity behind the bumper, between the frame and fender in front of the wheel, then covered the cavity. However, that put the cone at the bottom, not protected from the elements and I ended up sucking a lot of moisture in through the intake. Won't make that mistake again

There is a reason why those factory filter boxes are an enclosed box, and should be sucking air in as high as possible unless on a flooded road you want to drink the water with the engine. There have been folks cut a hole in the bumper cover and channel the cold air to the factory enclosed box. Good luck

@kryptto are you saying that the factory replacement panel filter for the factory air box is the way to go? ive seen CAI kits with and without heat shields at quadruple the cost of the KN factory replacement filter so if the panel filter works just as well thats good to know, sometimes the CAI are needed because of a restrictive factory box, ive seen factory boxes squeeze under load.

A very trusted and respected tuner many of us use told me and I quote since my ambient temps under load were going up as the engine was heating up. For our tiny ass stock turbos, use the stock airbox and drop a K&N save yourself money. I made my decision way back and uneducated, thinking like many more air the better. The idea is cool constant air, any temperature rise in ambient means changing effectiveness on combustion.

Keep the stock box and drop a K&N - I will go back.

I had planned on going with a stock replacement K&N sooner than later since ive personally seen improvements in other vehicles and possibly upgrading to a CAI with an insulated box later on (after more pressing issues are resolved) but if i dont need to i wont, no intention of upgrading turbos. thank you for the insight, didnt meant to hijack this thread @TimeLord
