Well I have spent many hours researching for up-gradable parts for my 94 SHO ATX and 95 SHO MTX. I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone's threads, comments and suggestions. Anyways every time I go to the junkyard, I bring pages and pages of information that I fumble through not finding what I need. So I decided to put together a Junk Yard Quick Reference Guide for Gen II Upgrades. Please note this is my attempt at assembling this information and there probably is a few things that are not correct.

Since I have used so much information from you all, I thought I would try and give back. I guess what I would like to do is for people to give feedback on things that need changed or added. I will make the changes and keep the attachments updated. Heck maybe if you guys think it is useful, we make it a sticky. No big deal, just a thought.

Thanks in advance for any comments, feedback, suggestions, etc.

On the subframes any 1-4 gen Taurus/Sable subframe will bolt to the chassis but only an SHO frame will fit the motor mounts with no modification. Others that will bolt up are the 88-94 Lincoln Continental and I think the 95-02 Continental will work too. It's also possible that the Windstar/Freestar subframe may work since it's a Taurus derivative.

The ones over here are not P&P , parts are super overpriced (something like the ones you see one ebay)

Plus , good luck finding a gen 1-2.

Some places , when you call , they tell you they didnt make any manual taurus.

Most places here , you cant go in the JY physically , even if its just for browsing.

Other places , its LKQ , again overpriced.

Its freaking pathetic.

Your thoughts, comments on 12 tooth starter

So would this be a helpful list to bring as a reference guide? Anything you would change or add? I guess I am looking for feedback to improve apon.

The 10 vs 12 tooth starters may very well be interchangeable. If you search on say NAPA's website, they are not interchangeable. Also if you search this forum for 'The right starter for your gen2' by 93rev2sev, it mentions that a 12 tooth starter will not last very long in a 3.2L because they are automatics and have heavy torque converters to spin.

I go all the time.

I think the fn74 brackets came on the 96+ taurus. There's also a bracket that will work for 11.6 brakes that isn't stamped fn74. I don't know what cars it came on.

The Mark VIII and T-Bird brackets that he listed are the ones you're referring to, and you are correct, they are not labeled FN74. The other bracket info is correct, 96-99 SHO, and some 01+ Taurus/Sable

Anybody have any words of wisdom or lessons learned on the 96 and up subframe upgrade? Which frames are the easiest? Do they fit both MTX and ATX? Or do some fit better than others.
