Hello Everyone!
I just bought a 2011 SHO and I am loving the car so far. I did a muffler delete, and took out the hood muffling and I love hearing the turbo sounds now. I was scouring over the forums to see what I could do to make the turbo sounds louder for cheap (who doesnt love cheap car mods). And I saw that some people had capped off the recirc bov that comes stock on the car. I was just wondering if doing this can cause any damage to the vehicle because ive heard horror stories about people doing this to other cars (not a SHO) and them blowing up their engines.
Any help is appreciated! Im loving this car, best car purchase so far

Yes if you cap off the recir BOV it can hurt the car. You are not allowing it to do the job i was intended to do. You are not allowing the air to escape the intake/boost tract and that air just ends up slamming against the TB.

Now if you are talking about removing the hoses and capping the ends on the air intake side while allowing the BOV's to vent to atmosphere, then yes that is correct. It will give you the whoosh sound and makes driving a bit better.

Here is a the video I followed for my VTA BOV's.

Also the hood muffling material isn't just for sound. It is there to protect against heat as well.
