Quarter Panel Removal

I posted a while back looking for parts for my busted-up green '95 ATX.

I found a tail lamp, the trim piece that goes underneath it, a trunk lid w/spoiler and center tail light, and various other little pieces at a junk yard on a green 94 taurus (with a better paint job than mine :S). All of this cost me about 50 bucks!

I would also like the right rear quarter panel off of that car, but the owner doesn't allow torches out on the lot. If I can find a way to get it off the car, he will sell (give) it to me for 30 bucks. Does anyone have any bright ideas or tricks to remove that section of the body without a torch?

angle grinder? cutting wheel? hacksaw and about 35 repeat visits?

See if they'll let a cordless recip saw in. Sounds like they just don't want power tools in the yard.

That junk yard should be able to cut the part for you. I know they do it in my neck of the woods but im not sure if they charge you for cutting it off.

Thanks for the help everyone. After arguing with the owner over the phone for a while, he has stated very clearly that he will not allow anything but chisels and hack saws for cutting. It looks like I hafta find the panel at another junk yard.

Just take in a battery operated dremel with a cutting wheel for metal.
If you use a good one they should be able to cut many things, if you turn the speed up high enough.

The most badass battery-operated dremel still only gets 35000 rpm. I have tried using these on sheet metal in the past, and it will take approximately 3 years of cutting to get the panel off and an entire hardware store full of cutting wheels.

The best thing to use to do it is an air powered cutting wheel. I did both of my rear quarters with it and tach welded it in.

Um, yeah there's gotta be more than one junkyard in MI, and the quarter is common to all '92-'95 Tauruses so it shouldn't take more than about 2 minutes on http://www.car-part.com to find what you need.

They actually search you on the way in. When I went before, I tried to sneak a little propane torch in for loosening bolts, but they found it and made me walk it back out to the car.

I think I should be able to find another taurus laying around.
