Well its around that time to put the sho away for the winter and i wanted ur ideas on storage cuz last yr i garaged it and it ran ****** when i took it back out and had replace fuel pump and the coils and more. It will be staying outside this yr under a cover and tarp wraped tight. anything else i shud do.

Go out and start it and let it get warm every few weeks.

Mine sits for long periods all the time and I've never had a problem with the fuel pump dying (apart from the time when I was daily driving it) or the coils (at least not when pulling it out of storage).

I do think that letting it sit was the cause of it starting to burn oil. I think that it's best to start it up every now and then to oil the inner parts.

Man I really feel for you guys up north, I drive my SHO all year long, and don't have to change rims and tires for the winter.

the tarp will go more harm than good, it will trap mosture.

unless you can run it up to normal operating temp dont start it until spring.

i'm in the same boat, i thought about the car wraping thing but i think i'm just going to leave undercovered, i'll be starting to work on it frequently over the winter. i plan on building a full shelter for it over the summer.

well im doing the same putting it in its place in the garage under the car cover, i normally pull the battery out for the winter and get a battery tender and put it in the basment for the winter and throw it in to start it about once a month

What about getting one of those inexpensive portable garages. I have seen a "zip-up" kind at K-Mart and Sears, and I know someone who has stored a couple of project muscle cars in them and they seem to have plenty of room and will keep the car out of the weather.

idk what they look like but i might have to capitalize on that, of course get a nice tarp to cover the shelter since its harbor freight and their cover is probably made out of recycled crap.

fun but i'd rather drive year round, or have a shorter winter and a trailer to bring a snow car up north. Even better ice (lake) racing, demo derby on ice!!!
