I was glancing through the forums and saw all this about PTU failures. I have a 2015 SHO with 20000 miles on it. Manual said don't mess with it. Good for life. You all think this is something I should change frequently? I don't drive it hard. Just weekends. Any advice? Thanks.

Fluid changes are cheap insurance. No such thing as lifetime fluids IMO. You'll find differing opinions here as to how often. I did mine at about 55k miles along with the trans fluid and rear diff fluid.

If you don't drive the SHO frequently, you can probably xchange the fluid every couple of years, along with brake and trans fluid. Keeping these fresh also keeps the systems fresh in "storage".

The previous owner of my SHO was a Ford transmission tech. He flat out told me he doesn't believe in the lifetime fluid statement, before he got rid of he car he put a new PTU in drilled and tapped it on the bench so it has a drain plug now. He told me Ford doesn't see it as a recognizable fix for warranty but it can be done.
