If you like Mazda trannies, a few tbird owners have put down 550 flb of torque onthe stock tranny, I'm trying to understand why MTX is breaking a lot sooner?

Just because its the same manufactuer doesn't mean its anything the same. The honda trannys last longer because they are being used in cars that weigh 600+ pounds less

Well boyz I broke my tranny. did a 3rd gear drop against the fast caddy and shredded. it.

Can't complain as I had 13k on that original supercharged tranny.

ThunderSHO is mothballed until the gear set goes through.....Then its time for a turdbo eating T-trim! he he he

They arent made anymore but can be found.

someone in the 240sx thread said that theres a guy in nj that has 2 700hp sho's with custom trannies.

just ask him which aisle in k-mart he got them from.

of course if it doesn't exist on shoforum, it doesn't exist at all right?
my buddy tiago's cousin owns those SHO's. both have a lot of work.

And my stepsisters great-aunt's adopted son has a friend....

Seriously though, there are some other high powered SHO's out there. I have read about some of them on other forums (and I am on a LOT of forums). But for there to be a plethora of 700hp 10 sec SHO's out there, and for there to be NOT ONE SINGLE REFERENCE ANYWERE ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB, well, that is pretty far fetched. The 'modded' trans SHO's that I have read about on other forums, well, they have a Quaife, no custom gearsets though. We absolutely know that the stock gears, no matter what treatment they are given, no matter what fluid is in the case, will not last for long at 500whp. So if indeed your buddy's cousins have some 700hp SHO's, you owe it to them to send them to the forum and have them get in on this group buy. Because they have surely shredded enough transaxles to give up on the SHO by now (which is what has happened to the vast majority of super SHO's that I have read about on other forums).

Back to your regurlarly scheduled program...

Money coming your way soon Tony! So glad to hear that this is still on!

I can't pay for it unless its with paypal, anyone want to use paypal so they put it on a credit card? Even Josh took paypal on the Wavetrac group buy, with the paypal fee.

I think the 10 mark can be reached with paypal.

I second that point... It has been a rough January for my family with a big layoff that seems to lack any immediate resolution. :frown:

Do these gearsets have a torque rating? I saw a horsepower number mentioned somewhere but it's usually torque that breaks stuff.

Yes, now taking paypal or credit cards.

paypal with fees = ? (don't know)

credit card fees = 3 to 4% depending on card

Call me individually to make payment arrangments:)

Money Sent and ready to go!

Now we can see how far we can push these motors!!

That is great news Murph! You have decided to go the turbo route! HAHA

Tony, awesome move on the PayPal decision. The 2-3% upcharge sucks at times, but if it is the price of convenience for some, or being able to charge the gears to a card, it is worth it, especially if we can get the count up to 10!
