Engine harness is NOT the same, use the one from your 3.0

Is that the 3.0 rear timing cover on the 3.2? Not all of mine lined up either. I didn't worry about it.

I'm guessing your 3.0 also had EGR? That temp delete will work fine, I assume you plan on finding a non EGR intake?

Thanks, I guess I will start to fish out the harness.
Yes it is the 3.0L rear cover on the 3.2L
My 3.0L does not have EGR. I was trying to not remove the intake from the 3.2, but I think that is not happening now that I have to remove the remaining harness from the engine.

So I took the intake off and I'm still not sure about the harness that goes under the intake through the V of the engine. It connects to the injectors, DIS, A/C and some other random things. I know the engine harnesses are different, Is the same true for this "Mini" harness? I am really hoping I can leave it in. If so I can start moving forward swapping 3.0 accessories.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the injector harness is the same from a 3.0 to a 3.2. I know all years, except the 89's the harness was the same, so I would "think" the 3.2 is the same. check the connectors on both harnesses and see if the wiring colors and connector locating tabs line up. I don't have a 3.2 harness here to go off of (I might, but it's buried in my sea-can) but that is the best way to tell.

I can't remember if the 02s plug into that harness, but if so, those are different. The MTX doesn't use 4 wire heated O2s like the ATX does. There was something else that might be different, but I can't recall it right now...

Well I have locked myself in the garage for the past 4 days and I am very close to getting this complete.

I had a small setback when I realized all the brackets I sand blasted and painted were not the same as the ones on the '95 3.0L.

Also, the injector harness is the same except for the O2 sensor plugs. The 3.0 O2 sensor could be modified to plug in, but I just swapped it out to be 100% sure it will work.

I tried to go with Gen 3 subframe mounts but the retard at NAPA lied. he said they were sold as a pair but the are sold individual. He ordered me 2 and I got 2. there was 1 mount out east so I would be short 1 mount. I have to go OE.

All that is left to do is
- install the belts and tensioner/idler
- wait for Subframe Bushings
- finish installing the harness on the engine
- slap it all back under the car and hope it starts. :)

Now for the pics

Quick question? Is my sway bar installed correct? When I took it off, I didn't pay close enough attention to how it was installed.

The sides of it are straight (Not shown in pic) I had it flipped before this and it hung down below the subframe.

Just a note for anybody doing the swap and keeping the 3.2L oil pump. you will have to grind a bit off the bolt hole between the tensioner bolts on the bottom.

For the steering line, sometimes you have to get lucky. Is it a new line?

You should have removed the belt tensioner for the 3.2 setup...I know I did.

Oh...are you doing it from inside the car? I've had one that wouldn't go out no matter what. I tossed that POS. I've had others that slid on like butter. But always from the inside of the car, you have to remove the boot on the cabin side of the firewall for access.

Success!!!

I got everything buttoned up and it started on the first try. Took it for a test drive and I can feel the difference between stock motor mounts and the Sho Source reinforced mounts. A little more vibration but nothing horrible.

Question: Where is the plug for the passenger side ABS sensor? I cant for the life of me find where to plug it in. I have traced the harness many times.

Thanks to all who provided your wisdom. It helped a great deal.

Update

So I have been driving around for the last week and everything feels real good.

I took it in for an alignment and the shop found that my rear spring was broken and the sway bare end links were missing. I knew about the sway bar. All they could do was adjust the toe at this point until I get the new rear struts/springs in.

This car seem to be ******* springs, both front springs were broken in multiple places.

I also found the source of my half throttle woes. It was a bad MAF. I have been chasing the issue since I got the car. It is amazing how fast and powerful the car really is.

Can anybody tell me what / where these 2 plugs go?

Plug in the middle by the heater hose

This one comes from the harness by the firewall. See next pic

Nope. That is all plugged in. I am baffled. I have traced the harness for empty connectors and I can find any besides those 2. One looks like it has never been plugged in. The other definitely belongs somewhere I just don't know where. I am hoping someone can pop their hood and trace where it goes.

Anybody?

Maybe not related, but I have noticed that the outside temp is not working. It always says 15*C
