Is there any tricks to removing the front bumper cover?
I removed all the bolts & clips. I gently pulled on the edge by the wheel opening to clear the studs and I can only clear the first stud 99%, the second stud (closest to the front of the car) doesn't budge.

I don't want to break anything. Do I need to be more forceful?

You got all three nuts off of that bracket right? There are two at the top, and one in the T section that comes down. They usually break off.

I spent some time stripping my parts car. I planned on swapping the doors as my 95 was involved in a minor gas station side swipe. I managed to get the drivers front door off with not too many issues. The back door is another story. I pulled the door panel off and managed to find one connector but there are still wires attached somewhere in the door.

Is it worth my time to try to shove my hand in the door to disconnect another connector or should I just cut them and splice later?

Quick Question for all, I am pulling my 3.0 (Actually dropping it out of the bottom) I tried to search for a thread but cam up empty.

What I am looking for is a list of things that require disconnection.

Do I have to disconnect the steering from the Rack? I can't really see how that connects.

So far I have disconnected the following:
Exhaust Y pipe
Removed Radiator
Removed A/C Rad
Disconnect heater core and A/C lines

Once I get the subframe bolts out, I will undo the upper strut mounts and hopefully drop the whole assembly out the bottom.

Any help will be appreciated.

Take a 18mm wrench, I think that's the size, to detach the hose from back of power steering pump. You would need a new teflon seal there for reinstallation later. Unclamp both hoses from the power steering fluid reservoir as well as one at the pump.

The steering shaft is attached to the rack and pinion under a rubber boot. You would have to pull back on the rubber boot to see the bolt and nut. Unfasten that, and then the shaft should slip back out when the subframe with the rack is lowered.

Good luck with your project.

Well I got a bunch of work done in preparation to drop the engine. Surprisingly, the sub frame bolts came out way easier on this rusty old 93 than they did on my 95.

I am still not able to get a good look at the steering connection to the Rack.

Is it possible to unbolt the rack from the sub frame, disconnect the end links from the knuckle and leave it in the car while I drop the sub frame assembly? or will it get in the way?

Thanks in advance

You can, It might get in the way. Would would also have to undo both lines. There is a pinch bolt at the bottom of the steering shaft - you can access it from inside the car by pulling the firewall boot under the dash - there are 3 11mm nuts.

Here is the result of a few beers and a few hours last nite. A complete sub frame dropped out of the car.

Yeah, the rack would have gotten in the way. Much easier to pull it all. Why is the master cylinder like that?

I failed to undo the line between it and the ABS unit. It got snagged and broke. Good thing I don't need it. This car is going to the scrap yard very soon.

I also missed the fuel lines, clutch cable and a few electrical connections. Nothing that I don't have already on my daily.

I managed to gain access to the steering rack bolt from the drivers side wheel well. I was lucky enough that the bolt was pointing in the right direction without having to turn the wheels.

It was good practice, now I have to pull my 3.2 ATX for practice round two.

In preparation for the 3.2, I believe I need to cut a full coil out of my Intrax / Sensatrac combo.

Is this where I chop it?
