Yep. Have you had them on a car? They seem to sit pretty low for some.

They have not been installed on the car yet, They were originally slated for my ATX, but that car has since died in a horrible crash.

Should I install them as is first to see how they sit?

Progress time!
My 93 MTX parts car is stripped of all usable parts.
Here it is waiting to be picked up by the scrap man.

Here is the subframe from the 93 MTX. Time to tear it down and ready it for the 3.2L. Nothing like 20 years of dirt and rust to deal with.:fit:

Questions:
#1 - Is there a difference between a 93 ATX and a 95 MTX steering rack?
#2 - Do I have any options to upgrade the front Sway bar?
#3 - If #2 is true, What about the rear?

Thanks

Towards # 2 and 3 yes.

What you want is the 24mm bar off the 89,90, and 91+ i believe.

1. The only difference should VAPS, if the 95 is not equipped. If they both have it, then no difference.

2. The only options are different size stock sway bars, 24mm being the largest that was available. 89-92 have a 24mm front as stock, later cars may have them too. The bar on your 95 subframe looks decently large.

3. Same thing for the rear, largest stock bar was 26mm, there were some 25mm, and then 23mm. Gen 1s had the 26mm, I think the police package cars got a 25. 92s have a 23mm rear, and after that, who knows.

I like my 24mm front/26mm rear combo, as do many others.

There were larger rear bars made aftermarket, but they aren't easy to find, and will make the car ride terribly.

Thanks for the answers. I will have to measure and see what I have.
FYI - The Subframe in the picture is from a 93 MTX.

My subframe bushings are pretty mangled. I have not had the recall on any of my 3 SHO's. Besides Aluminium SFB, is they any other "upgrade" options or just OE.

Using 4 rear bushings from 96-07 Taurus/sable would be the only other upgrade over the originals besides the aluminum.

Your 93 MTX may have had the 24mm front sway car too.

I have the "upgrade" bushing and love them. Huge difference in how the car rode in turns. I will be putting them in my 89 very soon as well.

Yes. They require you to make a small slot in the sub frame to slide in, pretty easy to do with a file or dremel, does not need to an exact fit by a by any means, and then you slap them in and go. I noticed some difference with them like less wheel hop and a better "feel" going through the turns. Just felt more connected to the wheel. Its hard to describe but i feel its worth it.

Is there a way to tell the difference between SHO specific control arms and SLO Control arms? Mine look OK and I'd like to re-build them but I cant get ball joints and bushings, All the parts stores sell the whole control arm only.

You can always cut them but cannot uncut them. In other words, I would.

Can you tell what seat has been cleaned and Conditioned? Lexol is magical.
The seats were dry and on the verge of cracking. They are in amazing shape for being 20 years old and have 220,000KM on them.

The one on the left was cleaned only, the right one has one treatment of the conditioner. The seat soaked it up real quick.

Made some good progress today. Got the engine separated from the sub frame and trans.

How does the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate look? Would you use it? It seems pretty new to me. The flywheel has an ever so slight groove.
The car had 220,000KM so I am pretty sure this clutch is not original.

The engine is for sale less the intake. I will start a thread for all the parts in the proper forum once I am ready.

What is the best way to clean all the gunk out of the intake? it is pretty gross. Can I reuse the intake gasket? They were in pretty good shape.

Enjoy the pics
