Alright, I'm new to this board, I just bought an 89 SHO last week. Tonight I was out driving her, when all of a sudden, the clutch got softer, and started to feel springy coming back up. It had been hard to shift since I bought it, this car has been abused, I've been replacing things on it, fixing it up, so this was one of the next things on my list, I don't think the clutch was really engaging all the way before, from how hard it was to shift, any help would be appreciated! Sorry if this doesn't make complete sense but I'm ****** off! I need to figure out what's wrong with her!

The feel of the clutch pedal is very dependent upon the health of the throwout bearing and pressure plate springs. The weakest link in the manual transaxle (MTX) SHO's drive train is the clutch - not the friction disk, but the pressure plate and throwout bearing interface. If the clutch has been slipping, then either the friction disk is worn out or the pressure plate springs are not producing enough clamping force. If the clutch pedal motion is stiff, coarse or ineffective in uncoupling the engine from the transaxle, the throwout bearing and pressure plate are worn.

Alright, sounds like the pressure plate is worn, the clutch pedal is stiff, and the clutch isn't slipping, it grabs, so I'm thinking that probably is it. Glad to get some help, if Miltown listens to you that's good for me, he referred me here, I met him on our Accord forum. Thanks alot for your help man, sorry but I've been a Honda guy for years, all of this is new to me.
