just started today, the clutch pedal will stay half engaged half disengaged and the clutch will slip like mad. if i slam the pedal a couple times with my foot it will drive normal. sound like a symptom of bent fingers on the pressure plate or something else. the car has 152,*** on it and as far as i know it still has the same clutch that came with it new. i have no records of it ever being replaced. also is there any clutches that are between the CM stage one clutch and a kevlar clutch? thanks.

Sounds like it maybe clutch kit time, other than that check the cable make sure its not binding and there is nothing interfering with the release shaft. The TOB could also be hanging up.

well it sounds like its the TOB, whines whill clutch engaged in neutral, stops when you press the clutch. it sticks sometimes causing the clutch to slip. Sucks, because this and a long list of other problems that are surfacing faster than i can fix them, and my current financial situation make it impractical to keep the car around so i'll probably be forced to get rid of it.

You need to do the clutch and all involed with that. It may last you a little while yet but you neeed to start driving very light on power, low rpm, light engagments- so it does'nt slip. This is the bottom line. If the fingers are bad it will just crash thourgh one day soon and you will porobably need a tow. Putting it in neutral at stop lights and NOT holding the pedal down will extend the duration of tthe failure some. If the clutch is just slipping it will consistantly slip if you give it too much power. If like you discribe, is ok at times its probably the fingers on the diaphram. Don't confuse lighter tourque enguagements as not slipping, with heavier tourque enguagments that you may need to do just to drive in normal traffic. If these symtoms are happening you can no longer drive normally in regular traffic. A fix is needed. Days are numbered.

yes days are numbered thats for sure ... it will drive normal if i give it light engagements and don't go heavy on the pedal at any time. all i need is it to get me to work for 2-3 more days, and i normally don't have to drive in stop and go traffic, for the most part it is a straight shot there. I'll be fixing my mustang since its a much cheaper fix, so i'll be driving that from now on ... I'm not sure what will happen of the SHO, it really sucks but i'll more than likley have to let it go due to my current situation.

no, i was just aggrivated at it so i said things about it I didnt really mean ... now that its completley failed, when the car wont move, but it will **** even if its in neutral, and if i try to shift the gears with it running it dies even with the clutch disengaged but it wont move even an inch, does this sound like the clutch or does that seem like it may be something in the tranny? i'll be tearing it apart soon to see for sure but it still scares me:s
