Yes, the switch for the moonroof in my '95 broke. Does anyone know if I can use a power window switch from a pre-1990 Taurus/Sable to replace it?

I've read about the repair using the NAPA switch; the NAPA switch looks just like a pre-1990 Taurus/Sable power window switch. I don't mind having to use the NAPA switch, but I'm just wondering if the Taurus/Sable switch would require less modification to use?

Has anyone tried this?

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. Since you both had success with both the Ford switch and the NAPA switch, I went to both Ford and NAPA and checked both switches. They are exactly the same - may be manufactured in the same place. So no, the Ford switch will not require any more or any less modification than the NAPA switch.

The NAPA switch sells for $12.00 and the Ford switch sells for $14.00 (here in Minnesota anyway). The Ford part # is E6DZ14529C.

The switches are manufactured by EATON for the OEM switch.

If the NAPA switch is made by EATON it is exactly the same, so save the $2.

I have a ton of those switches laying around. Let me know if you want one, I can do much better than $12 for a switch :thumb:
