THE POWER SEAT SWITCH WIRING IS ROUTED OVER RATHER THAN UNDER THE FRONT SEAT SUPPORT BRACE, ALLOWING DAMAGE BY SEAT CUSHION SPRING ENDS WHEN SEAT IS OCCUPIED.

POWER SEAT SWITCH WIRING INSULATION MAY BECOME ABRADED,OR PUNCTURED, AND AN ELECTRICAL SHORT COULD OCCUR THAT COULD RESULT IN A FIRE IN THE SEAT CUSHION MATERIAL.

REVISE ROUTING OF POWER SEAT WIRING TO PREVENT DAMAGE FROM SEAT CUSHION SPRING CONTACT.

AFFECTED VEHICLES All Taurus and Sable cars (except Taurus SHO) equipped with power front seats that
were produced from July 1, 1987 through October 31, 1988.

well.. thats nice to know for all of our non-sho tauri, for those 2 years....

but if its not a problem with the SHO, why post it?

I bet it is a problem with the SHO as well. I know I have parted out a SHO before that had the wires routed "incorrectly".

in my seat my wires got burned up from the short and it caused my breaker to overheat and start a fire in the fuse panel.
