I purchased a week ago a 1993 MTX without keyless entry or factory remote. It appears to have a Code Alarm system which has been deactivated. (The red bulb indicator does not light up). The remote does not work. The driver's side switch on the power door locks does not operate unless the drvier's side door is open. The passenger side switch locks when all doors are closed, but does not unlock. The switch unlocks when the driver's side door is open.

Any ideas? I'm thinking it may be related to to the Code Alarm system.

Thanks for any insight.

You have a broken wire in the harness between the switches in the door and the body of the car, probably near the large connector in the door jamb.
