Just wanted to get some input before buying a door actuator.
My driver's side door intermittently locks/unlocks and need to use the key, push/pull the door **** or open by pulling the interior door handle.
When not working the key fob, key pad or interior buttons do nothing.
There also seems no reason when it works or does not.
Thanks for help

First thing I'd do is pull the door panel and inspect the wiring, I havent been inside my door yet to know how much of a PITA itll be but you need to know if youre going to potentially replace it anyway right? if all is snug and nothing frayed next you can just check with a voltmeter if it has any power going to it when you hit the button. beyond that, forscan will read the door module and there may be some info to be had in the logs. if you have good power at all times you can jump the actuator with a 12v source to see if its dead internally. depends on how cheap they are as to how much diagnostic I would bother with.

I agree with the suggestions above. Based on your description, I'd bet most likely the lock actuator is bad. I just replaced one on an older vehicle that was intermittent. I thought for sure it was going to be a wiring issue, but pulling the door panel and testing for voltage, then injecting voltage, confirmed the issue was with the actuator.

The door panels in the SHO are not that difficult to remove, but I'd definitely recommend you watch a video or check out a service manual on the procedure. I don't recall the specifics, but I do recall there is a well-camouflaged cover behind the inside door handle that hides a screw and that the wiring for the ambient lighting can be pretty easy to pull out when trying to get the panel free from the door.
