You'll either have to replace the antenna or fix it. Apparently there's a small plastic part that breaks off and disables the antenna the last place it was parked.

Try this link:

and go to Care and Feeding of the SHO, then go to exterior and you'll see the link to power antenna replacement.

The part from the local Ford stealer was like $45 for the mast and cable only. Literally takes 5-10 minutes to do!

Junk the piece of crap and get an aftermarket fixed-mast antenna. The reception is better, not to mention they don't break or have electrical quirks. Why else do you think all newer cars went back to the fixed mast antenna?

How about a integrated antenna in the rear window?(looks like defrost lines with a different pattern)

Just an idea, I dont even know if they sell aftermarket kits to do this.

replacing the mast/motor is a cake walk. the hardest thing was gettign my jack out from my basement. i did it on sat morn took 30 misn and that was because i snapped the bolt and was tryign to find a replacement bolt in my dad's workshop. i bought a used mast/motor and now my antenna goes down great.
