Well, i guess it could be worse but im only getting about 15-16 mpg.
I have absolutley no leads except for my TPS wiring. I havent fix it yet cause it very rarely acts up. Could this be my problem anyways. Ive never had the car accelerate on its own, just revs up in N or D maybe about once or twice a month (nothing a little wire jiggling doesnt fix).
Other than that, the car runs perfect. PLEASE HELP!

is that city? highway?

Remember during the winter case mileage blows due to additives in the gas.

When was the last time you gave it a FULL tune up?

I was getting that in town before the intake was cleaned up, new spark plugs, etc. the works.

Did a fuel mileage check last weekend and got 26.7 mpg cruising at 60 mph. I have no complaints now. Motor has 76k or so on it.

There is a common concern about this... It is a TPS rewire package. About 100$ from the dealer.

I am in Cincy too. Where are you at. I have seen a black 97 or 96 running around fairfield with tinted windows.

This is everyday driving, but more highway than city. Ive been babying it the last tank and had no improvement. As for the tune up, i have yet to get the intake cleaned which it REALLY needs or a tranny flush (which is getting done over the weekend). i have put new plugs and coils in.

Check the TPS rewire kit for the surging rpm. Replaced it on my 98 and it worked. You should be getting better mpg. I just got 29.7 mpg on my black 97 with 126,000 miles. Of course that is on cruise control for about 150 miles at 55-65 mph. Good luck.
