Plus window trim same as Gen II!!!

I just discovered something interesting. The window trim from a Gen II and the chrome trim from a 91+ are the same. At least the sill trim is. I haven't experimented with the stuff around the top of the window, but it looks the same. Plus window trim is not exclusive to the plus. Except for the teardrop windows in the back.

Gen IIs and Gen Is uses the same doors, so it make sense that they're interchangeable.

what cars got the chrome piece? My SHO doesnt have it (nor would i want it, looks better in just black). We recently had a 1993 taurus (gl i think?) and it had chrome trim. I was going to swap some trim pieces and the mechanic said....but the sho has chrome and that one doesnt....so i said he had it the other way around. But i remember hearing that some SHO's had the chrome trim. So what gives?

92-93 all taurus sho and others. 94-95 sho didnt have it all others did.

86-91 all taurus except sho

91 plus

Not at all. :thankyou: Now I have another question. If the doors are the same, does that mean the inside door panels are also interchangeable?

Yes they are, but they don't line up with the dash unless you swap that as well.

I know someone with Gen II door panels and a Gen 1 dash on his Gen 1, not my cup of tea for sure.
