Print this out and save it as I think the diagram in the Haynes/Chilton manual is wrong.

Chilton is definitely wrong. Even the new release still has the left side of the coil pack as 4-5-6 rather than 4-6-5.

Not to sound like a tool .... but where is the "front" in this diagram? In the fender, with the belts, WP, etc,. or in the front of the car by the radiator?

The front of the engine is the end with the timing belt, wp, etc

The view shown in olympic's drawing is from the perspective of standing in front of the radiator with the hood open, staring at the engine, saying "Ah Crap! I forgot to make a drawing!"

So then shouldn't it read front of car? When I'm in front of the car, I have an airbox in that corner where the coilpack is drawn.

Perhaps he forgot (or assumed to was unneeded) to include a left pointing arrow in conjunction with the text "front of engine" and another designation pointing downward with the legend "Front of Car".

The diagram does not represent the complete engine compartment and is not to scale.

ty for all the info :) and as for the diagram it was pretty self-exp considering the coil pack is numbered and orientation doesnt matter because standing from either side or god forbid behind wink the engine the diagram would only look right from behind lol and front of engine served perfectly to discern between the front and the back lol
