I bought some wires for my Mustang at O'Rielly Auto parts a few days ago and the guy there told me that their generic brand is made by the same company that makes the wires for Motorcraft and teh wires I got for the stang sure look a lot like the factory wires. Anyone ever tried their wires for the SHO and if so did they work out? I am just curious because the wife is not gonna let me spend the bank to get motorcraft wires but if the guy at O'Rielly is correct then I should probably get some of theirs. If not they sell AC Delco and from searching the board here it seems a couple of people have luck with them. Not sure how much the house brand is but they have the delco wires for $44.99 which is still much cheaper than the motorcraft wires. Any input is appreciated. Seems I keep taking parts off my SHO to get my wifes working so when I fix the spun bearing my car wont have enough parts to run. I have already stole 4 spark plugs, one plug wire, one idler pulley, alternator, the climate control, back seat and the sun roof controls. Sheesh.

The "this part is made by the same company that makes them for (insert car maker name here)" line is as old as the day is long. Once in a while it's true, but I'd never trust a guy behind the counter to be accurate with such info...

If I was in a very tight $$$ situation (which is usually the case! eek! ), I'd probably go for the AC Delco wires above any other aftermarket maker. I recently worked on a SHO with an intermittent misfire that had the Delco wires on it. I naturally immediately presumed the wires were the problem, but it turned out to be a faulty DIS module that would start to fail when it got hot. I was surprisingly impressed with the fit and apparent quality of the Delco wires -- enough so that I'll probably buy a set just to compare side-to-side with factory wires for size & fit, and might even perform some electrical testing. Here's a pict. of the Delco wires:

RockAuto.com sells the AC Delco wires (P/N 16-826Q) for $32.79 + shipping (and you can get 5% off your order using the discount code posted in the Vendor Feedback forum which would mean $31.15 + shipping).

If you go this route, let us know how they turn out for you.
