Well just spent another day tring to figure out this car, but NO luck.
I put new thermal paste on the DIS, I only have 3 of the 4 bolts that hold the DIS on, I hope ALL 4 bolts arent nessasery.
We tested the 3 rear wires, with a new plug against a bolt on the body. All three tested GOOD, or atleast they put out spark.
I took the intake off and pulled all three plugs and ALL 3 plugs were blacker than the ace of spades : ( 2 of the plug wells had a lil fluid or luquid in their, I "think" it was oil. It was kinda a tan color, like NEW oil, and their is NEW oil in the car.
So I took the valve cover off, the gasket for the VC seemd perfectly fine and the RTV sealent was ALL the way around the head, NO small spots were oil coild have seaped by. BUT the plug well seals were RTV on the side that mates with the head and that seemed good, but the side were the seal meets with VC I DIDNT put any RTV and it seemed like their may have been a spot or two were oil could have seaped by.
So, I RE-applied new RTV on the head and were the plug seals go on the head, than I RTVd the plug seals onto the VC, let them sit for a half hour to tack to the VC, and put the VC back on the head. And reinstalled the intake.
We also put brand new Motocraft plugs back in, the Fine Wire kind. I belive those are the ones that work with the Taylor Wires. Something about the plugs being longer and the wires being a lil shorter to make up for the longer plugs, or something like that, I read about.
I only saw 1 ground wire bolted to teh intake bracket on the passenger side rear bracket. I thought I read somewhere about a ground wire going to the DIS, but I dont see one, is their one.
Either way, the car STILL runs like SHIT. The rear cat isnt glowing red, so thats GREAT news, but something is still hindering this car. When you rev it up in neutral, it soudn GREAT but as soon as a load is put on or the clutch is let off, the power feels like its being choked or something. And still NO SES light.
We are getting closer to the point were we may just sell this car
