hello guys,
Well today my rear drivers side brake line broke from the rust built here in upstate new hampshire.. allright took the car to the mechanic, and had 2 new lines installed.. Now as before having the lines installed( after the old ones broke)
I hear all the time "pffffuu'' from brake pedal, it goes too far down( at the floor). The bleeding is not helping, after 2,3 push it still the same. when the brake lines blew ( broke) i saw smoke coming from the driver side and passenger side engine bay coming out. The mechanic bleed the system 3 times, all calipers working good, no leak. please help me what to do .. is there anything else i could be looking for...

A couple of thoughts:

When the line broke it may have sprayed fluid on the exaust and caused the smoke.

If you pumped the Master cylinder dry you most likely pushed air into the ABS. The ABS pump has to be placed in the proper position to be bled. This has to be done electronically through the ECU. Did the "mechanic" do that when he bled the system?

You may also have a bad master cylinder or power brake booster. The tests for these are covered in many prior posts.
