Ok, guys first let me thank everyone up frong for any help they may give with my problem.

I have a 92 Atx and I have 17x7 ASA KA3 wheels with bfg 235 45 17s. I was unaware of any rubbing problems until this week when my drivers side tire went flat. When I removed it the inside of the tire has a complete cut into it from the inner fender. Im guessing that this is occurring when I make left hand turns. This is not occurring on the drivers side tire though. There is no rubbing on that side.

So Im not sure what to do. These tires should fit. I know other people that have them and they have no problems. I dont want to buy four new, smaller width tires. My friend suggested that I put a bigger wheel stop on so that the tires cant turn as far.

Any suggestions on what should be done, or maybe what is wrong with the car would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That is weird that it would cut into it without showing signs first. My old tires would rub on my fender causing awful sounds. This would happen over many bumps. However It never did any damage, except minor scratches on the top of the tires.

Could it possibly be a tire deffect? I have a hard time believing that it would not show signs before cutting the tire.

What offset are those wheels? We can't see it from here, so you will have to say exactly what is rubbing the tire. Could be something is out of place. Maybe worn bushings are letting the wheel move inward too much. You can test the steering by putting two pieces of greased metal under each wheel. Allows full left to right movement without grinding the tires into the pavement.

I had thought that I had heard rubbing a few times, but every time I went to check it out I never bothered to check the inside of the tire. The only thing that I can think of is that the wheel stops wore out or something and its allowing the wheels to turn too far. The offset I believe is 38mm, but I will have to check. The wheels came from tire rack and I know of other sho forum members that have the same wheels.
