ok, ok, so I know what I'm supposed to do, but a moment of weakness fell
over me, so please forgive. I swapped out my water pump and was having trouble disassebling and reassembling the pieces, so we took off the cam belt, (I assume Timing) and the cam sprockets moved, so now the car wont start. Anyone know where they are supposed to be, All I saw on the cams were little dimples near the bolts. Please help, this is my daily driver and I'm lost.

There are lines on the rear timing belt cover. Line the dimples up with those lines and then carefully replace the timing belt. Good luck, you may have to do it a few times.

Ok something new...

cams adjusted, but I get no fire, plenty of crank, but nothing. Everything sounds good, normal as it were, checked all the sensor plugs. All is fine there. Question 2, should the check engine light stay solid once key is turned on, I forget. It goes off once I try to get it to start. Your help is greatly apprieciated.

Chris,

Did you follow Doug's link and set all three timing marks? The two cam sprockets at 12 noon dimples on the rear timing cover AND the bottom crank sprocket (NOT the timing mark on the dampener pulley) mark at the bump at 5 o'clock position on the oil pump housing?

followed Doug's link and set the marks accordingly. All lines up just fine. Checked the cam sensors and all is good and tight. I am gonna check the codes here in a sec just to see what's what.

Followed all said instructions, however after setting the timing I noticed that the belt had jumped a tooth after being set, all that to say, does anyone have a good tensioner and belt for sale? HELP!!

Chris

BTW this went off to a mechanic that is charging me an arm and a leg to finish...

All,

well, at the moment I have decided to forego any further investment in my beloved SHO. Unfortunatley the math just doesn't make sense, but look for in in the classifieds, it will make someone a cheap fix and a good car

Thanks
Chris
