Wow, so much for constructive criticism...

I'm also not a fan of that 90º... merge? collector? i'm not even sure what to call it...

Personally, when I eventually get around to my FI project, if I decide to turbocharge, I'll spend the extra money on proper unions and, more importantly (to me, at any rate) mandrel bent piping.

That said, best of luck with the build.

Um, I'm sorry but I'm irritated now..

I like how people are talking smack on my project. And I noticed that the people that are saying negative things, don't even have a boosted SHO, "are going to turbo it"...............eventually? or even own a SHO at all! Um so yeah, thats all I have to say on that. I do appreciate constructive criticism, but it just doesn't come across that way. I mean saying "it doesn't look that great" goes beyond being useful, and is rude.

But thank you to the people that do appreciate what we are doing, you all are awesome!

done with the y-pipe
CIMG0566

it did only cost 20 bucks (plus heat wrap)to do it ourselves though, so you can't really beat that price or the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

ashley

Almost as sexy as me...you'll get there...

Haha, I would **** for a turbo SHO...

I would hate to burst everybodies bubble about that 90 angle but even tims hotpipes do that. More like an 85 degrees on tims but same thing really. So I have no clue why u guys are busting people balls. Actually it looks almost the same as the y-pipe and up-pipe as tims. The fabrication is amazing and it shown that it works. And I am sure that 90 is not want they want either but I am sure their is a reason why it there. clearance, easier to do. IDK but sheesh.

anyways it looks awesome. Can't wait to see the charge pipes/intercooler and when it up and running. Keep up the awesome work guys!!

And hamal I know u said something about the mendral piping but tims are bent that way. I am pretty that union is soo tight because it has to be. That's my best guess. sometimes u guys are a little tough. (i am not saying this as a dick just trying to point it out because I have the y-pipe and noticed it too. I guess there's now way around with out it being a major PIA

No Tim's pipe doesent have bends like that from what I saw, show me a picture. Im really not trying to hurt anyones feelings. I thought it was possibly a test pipe, whatever. Im sorry for coming off the wrong way.

Yea my SHO's gone, so what. That was one of 12 Ive owned. Going back to basics now, this is why we ditch the stock Y, thats exactly what it looks like. But your young, and not everyone has all this crazy money to spend I can respect that. So good luck putting it together and I look foward to seeing some numbers.

Relax.

No one is talking smack about your project, and in fact many of us are waiting to see the final outcome.

That said, you have to understand that people are going to make comments on what they see. Furthermore, even though my SHO isn't boosted yet, doesn't mean that I haven't put any thought into planning it out, based on the successful builds that I have seen done so far. To that end, I still have a problem with that 90º. Doesn't mean that it won't work or make power, but it's not how I would do it.

I'm sorry if my criticism of your pipes rubbed you the wrong way.

i think it looks like a fun build. nothin is better than taking off your welding mask to see what you've accomplished. if i hadnt had a supercharger lyin around before i got my SHO i would have put a turbo on instead of the supercharger. its lookin good, keep up the good work

I am not hurt it but just seemed like u guys were hatin on that 90 degree angle. I was just saying that even tim's have a bad angle.(doesn't matter to me as it obvisouly works great) yea it not as bad but still that's pretty close like 80* or so
Here's a couple picks from the HP GB. The angle is not a 90 but it is still really sharp.

To all the negative "90 degree" bend criticizers and other naysayers here: I have seen Ashley and Paul's shop and seen what they have done with several of their turbo SHOs. You have to give them major props because that accomplish what they do without spending large sums of money on the projects. The process may seem crude in execution to some, but you cannot deny the results they achieve, which is major horsepower. It think that shows major ingenuity, talent, and tons of knowledge in how to modify these vehicles. Keep it up!

Who cares what they say, you're the one who is going to be pushing the gas pedal and having a smile on your face! Let's just not hear that pipe being an excuse of why you lost in a race... :p

This is why I like Paul. He's the quiet type that doesn't get his feathers all ruffled because someone had something constructive to say. He just sort of goes along his day with a "whatever" attitude, and makes serious HP and dependability.

It's important to note in a project like this, that many people will have opinions on how things should be done. Everyone has a right to one, and as long as they are conveyed in a manner that is productive and polite, they should be respected.

Over-reaction to someone's opinion or comments is what starts problems, which is fast becoming the case here. I think it's great that this is being done on the cheap, but the more "omfg someone is bashing my turbo sho and they dont even have one so they have no right to bash wtf omg lmao lol" comments I see, the less interested I get, regardless if the car puts out 400 or 4000 HP.

Attitude is everything....

That said, I've met all the people involved in this, and it's great to see the enthusiasm of younger owners resulting in great projects like this one. Good luck, hope the build goes well!

That's because they're vodka drinkers, except Paul. He doesn't drink much at all I don't think.
