Just ran across this pic and thought I'd share... makes the car seem a little more European or something. My 90' saab had rear headrests so I thought why not. Just slid them in between the rear seat and the package tray.

Yea, I did the whole Sable rear package tray conversion (the 1st gen Sables came with adjustable rear headrests). I need to upload to pics of it.

You didn't drill anything Adam? The space between the seat backs and package tray isn't straight, and it would lift the seat backs out a bit, no?

I want to do this too.

The "legs" of the headrest just slip in between and don't push the seat out at all. Not really adjustable, but look good none-the-less IMO. Email direct if you have more detailed questions. It is a piece of cake to do though trust me.

Here are a few pics of mine:

This is a Sable back seat (with SHO upholstry over the foam), a Sable package tray and Sable headrests.

You can see the headrests actually move in and out, not up and down like the front ones. There is a big bracket that mounts between the speaker and the metal package tray structure. That what the headrests mount into.

I envy your interior. It all looks so cool. Digital everything and whatnot....

One other thing, what are those huge things behind the headrests? Speaker mounts?

Yes they are speaker grills. 1st gen cars have big plastic grills that sit on top of the package tray. The subs in the 1st gen cars are directly below the rear deck speaker so the rear speakers are elevated to clear the subs (though most non-JBL cars that don't have subs have the same set up)

So gen 1's have two subs instead of just one in the center? Hmm, learn something new everyday. :D
