G-force addict
One of the local drivers does photography as a hobby and snapped a bunch of pics last weekend. Here are some images of me in the '89 Pseudo-Plus coming around the last hairpin just before the finish line.
1st run- Overshooting the entry and smoking the fronts under hard braking. Speeds approaching 70mph just prior to the braking point. Forgot it was an '89 - NO ABS!!! Oops! Was running street tires that day (Falkens) and forgot I had to turn down the aggressiveness a notch:
Approaching midway through the hairpin, still smoking the rubber. Check out the rear wheel gettin' some air:
Coming out the turn in 2nd gear, fully on the throttle, just before the finish:
2nd run- Proper threshold braking at corner entry, no smoke this time. Dropped 1.6 sec. Sometimes you have to "go slow to go fast". HIt a cone, though, not a clean run:
Targetting the apex:
Just past apex, quickly rolling on the throttle. This is where that Quaife really kicks in:
Final straight, full throttle into the secondaries:
Cleaned up my act by the final run, which wound up being 2 sec faster than the 1st run. Overall, finished 22nd in a field of 159, and won my class by about 1/2 a sec. Was 2.4 sec behind the fastest time of day. RESULTS HERE. Dammit, I should've brought the Hosiers instead! :banghd:
