Well folks, it's been quite a while! Excited to say, I've just purchased a blue 95 mtx, one of my favorites of all time. Looking forward to bringing this SHO back to its former glory! Another favorite for me would have to be a green 91 plus. I have big plans for the car, hopefully that includes a 3.2 swap in the not so distant future. But we will start with the basics, 60K, rod bearings, etc. Clutch will also be near the top of my list, what can you guys recommend as a street clutch for this car? Something that can handle a little more power without sacrificing pedal / clutch feel. Probably going with 96 brakes and subframe connectors, as time and money permits. Just happy to be back in the SHO game. Located in Southern Vermont, anyone else nearby? S l1600 S l1600

Nice car.

I'm going to be buying a south bend stage two daily just so I can try out the nitrous kit that came with a car I purchased and i'm installing a quaife when I do it.

I had great experience with luk clutches but unfortunately they were discontinued. They were the best stock clutch i've used. A member on here used his for drag racing with a fifty shot of nitrous IIRC and it held up fine, then he entered a burnout competition. I bought an oem valeo green box clutch kit and I can't even do a burnout the clutch just slips. That luk clutch wouldn't slip when I did a burnout.

I work on cars at my fathers in Fair Haven, VT. I drive a black 92 with faded clearcoat.

Well great, it's good to hear there's another SHO owner not too far away. Maybe we could have a little Vermont SHO meetup at some point before the snow flies. That would be something to look forward too. Next Tuesday is the day I pick up the SHO. Taking a greyhound bus from Brattleboro to Philadelphia, then it's a 5 minute walk to Jefferson station, where I catch the train to my final destination, just about an hour from downtown Philly. Then it's going to be a drive-all-night return trip, back to Vermont for work on Wednesday afternoon. Let's hope the vehicle can pass the 300 mile road test! I will try to document as much of the trip as I can.

nice looking car.

when you get to the front brakes, etc. I recommend you look at the Gen3 subframe swap - noticeably better ride and handling as well as the larger brakes and easy to swap front wheel bearings when that is needed.

Good luck with the car tomorrow. Although I have horrible luck with parts and other things, i've never been stranded and had to pay for a tow in my SHO. It might have to do with the fact that i'm OCD with maintenance on every part of the vehicle. I try to convince myself it's a healthy hobby.

If I part out the car I just purchased it's the same color as yours and there's a lot of good body parts. I guess i'd meetup but i'm not sure what the **** we'd do. You could come look at the car if I decide to part it and see if you want anything. I can't see someone purchasing body parts to have as spares, but I figured i'd mention it.

Well the trip went smoothly with no major issues. Car runs great and the suspension has definitely been maintained with new struts and springs all around. The 300 mile drive was a good break in and allowed me some time to learn the ins and outs of my new car. Just today I put it up on ramps and discovered it has a full exhaust and what looks like a 2 1/4 inch high flow y pipe. The clutch will definitely need replacing. It engages very high but I can still get on it. Have all my valve lash tools with me, so we will start there, and then rod bearings. Rubydist, what all is involved in the gen three swap? Is there a kit to swap it in?
