PCM issue

Hi, I'v traced my PCM to be fualty in a long and agervating process that I wont subject you to because it is not relevent. Any ways if I were to buy a used PCM would it need to be the same part number? also what if anything would I need to do to get the pats sytem to be happy with the new(used) PCM.

I think the same number is the safe bet. Try Ray at Midnightauto. He sells SHO parts on ebay and usually has some GenIII stuff parted out.

'98 and '99 had full PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System). You'll need the correct PCM that matches your car and someone to reprogram it to the car. You'll need at least 2 keys to do this.

I'm curious. Why is it exactly that you need a new PCM? I've had to replace 11 PCM's in my CAREER. Ford PCM's are almost bullet-proof.
