When my headlights come on my taillights don't come on. When I step on the brake or use the turn signals they do work. And my dash lights don't come on either. Thats not as important as the tailights though, because on my way home from work they weren't on and I had to dodge a cop by going down a side road. Anyone know what it could be?

Clean your turn signal switch (or multi function switch as its called). I had a few crazy things going on and it straightened out after that.

I took the switch out, disassembled it after testing a few things. Cleaned it with brake cleaner on a rag (was out of contact cleaner) and reaasmbled and all was fine. Another person said they hosed it out without dissasembling it with wd 40 and it worked.

Its where your turn signal stalk goes into the column. A couple of screws under the column cover and a couple of screws on the switch, unplug and go to town. I couldn't bring myself to spend $45 on a new one right now as its almost on the road. (waiting for title and inspection) Now it'll probably outlast the car !

Did that and still the lights wont work for any thing. What else could it be. If I can't have it fixed it will have to go back to the mechanic, and I don't want it to be gone any longer the last 4 days made me miss my car so bad!

I guess it could be remotely possible for the switch to have a short... Did you download the wiring diagrams for the 93? Do that and go from there, I'll bet you can find it. For now just download the lighting ones. Also goto each bulb and check the connectors, bulbs, wires.

if the headlights and such are turned on by pulling on a ****, then you will have to replace the electronics behind that ****. Im not to sure how a sho's lights are turned on cuz i havent been in one in a long time but if it through a **** then that is your problem. This happened in my torino and drove me nuts till my dad said this is your problem after 4hrs of me and a friend checking different things out.
