Parking Light issue

My Parking lights don't stay on. Headlights do, not parking lights. They might turn on, might not. They might stay on for a long time, then turn off.
Playing with the switch when they are 'Off' makes no difference. Rarely, playing with the autolamp switch they come on.

When they kick out, I hear a click behind the dash.

I have ordered the Helm Wiring Diagram, but if anyone else has fixed this first, I'd appreciate some ideas!

Sounds like something electronic. GEM maybe? GEM=General Electronics Module (I think).

Is there a separate relay for the parking lights? I thought that relays clicked when they go bad.

That's what I'm hoping the Wiring diagram will help me diagnose. Relays or controller or a mysterious black box...
