HELP! My parking brake light started staying on. The brake is released and the car drives fine (doesn't seem like the brakes are on). The light seems like it's at about 3/4 the brightness it usally is. The light isn't on when you first start the car. It comes on after about 5 seconds of starting the car. What could be wrong????

How is your brake fluid level in the master cylinder?? I seriously would not drive the car until you find the cause of the problem. Even though you say the parking brake is released, try gently tugging on the pedal with your hand and see if the light goes off.

I've tried checkin the parkin' brake pedal. It's fully up and the connections to the parking brake switch are fine. I haven't checked the brake fluid level but I will first thing in the morning when I wash and wax it. The car wash at work ran outta soap so I couldn't get it washed. How harsh is that? :D
