Painted Pinstripe - Is it a factory option?

Not a huge fan of the pinstripe on my car. It's not terrible, but would love to remove it. Definitely paint and not vinyl. Any suggestions without ruining my paint job?

I don't think there is a way to remove one paint without damaging the other paint unless it's repaint.

Pinstripe is not a factory option.

Its paint on the clear coat so a very delicate polish job should be able to take it off very slowly. I bet a body shop could take it off pretty quick.

Awesome! I was able to scrape a little off with my fingernail so you might be correct

Pretty sure that is a stripe kit that was cleared over, you can buy that exact kit on ebay. Assuming it is actually under the paint.

I did have the two pin stripes but Had my them off by body guy yesterday and had no trouble. Mines a 2010 non pp 304b trim level

My car cam from the factory with a pin stripe. The higher trim opt. Had it. I have a 2010 sho non pp my trim level is the 304b the highest trim option and it came with it.

I went to a local body shop that also does detailing and they said it would be very difficult to not screw up the paint underneath. Do you know how they got yours off?

If it's truly a sticker this will take it off easily, just don't apply too much pressure so you don't burn the clearcoat. you'll need a cut and polish afterward but it's worth it if you know what you're doing.

He said a light heat gun and peeling it by hand using his nail where needed. Figuring the cars 10yrs old it came off in pieces and took him longer than he thought.(2 afternoons) After all the pieces where off He buffed it. You can barely tell the car came with the stripe still my need to be buffed more. it’s like it was cleared coated, stripe added them cleared again. He said It wasnt to hard he did it for $40

Heatgun/peel works, or if you have an electric drill, get a rubber/gum wheel, it will spin it right off. Just don't hold it in one spot too long, work back n forth. That's what we do here at the bodyshop, works for stripes and the adhesive from nameplates/decals.

Mine is definitely paint so that is a no go. I have used the rubber wheels they work pretty good!

I used a 3M rubber wheel to remove my SHO factory pinstripes. Worked amazing, and fast.
