Well, last night I did my summer/winter wheel swap at my friend's garage and painted my brake calipers at the same time.
I decided to go with 'hunter green' paint from Home Depot. The only other choices were black, brown, white, and yellow.
It wasn't too hard painting them at all. I just followed the instructions from Ron Porter on the v8sho.com email list and it went really well. I'll probably have to touch it up a little bit next spring when I do the wheel swap again, but for now it'll do fine.
If I ever get a digital camera, I'll take some pics. Now that I have the OEM wheels on you can't see the calipers as much as you can with my wide-open spoked 17s, but I think it still is a nice cosmetic touch.
Only cost me $10.52 for 3 disposable brushes, a can of lacquer thinner, and can of paint that I maybe used 1/100th of the paint in it.

It's really a nice touch for the SHO. I use Duplicllor 1200F engine spray paint. Every time I rotate the tires I spray another coat on to cover the embedded brake dust. Holds up well to the heat too.

It all comes off, I did mine last year in the brake paint (cant think of the name) VHT something, and cooked it off. Turned the white paint cocoa brown.

I will admit, I out drove the brakes but them small 11.6 brakes ger super hot..

Side not Mark, I painted my stockers in the rear to match the front RED with black brackets, and with the 17" wheels it makes the tiny brakes stand way out like rice ville :)

They are made of cast steel. Not as easy as aluminum, but i could polish them, and with a clear coat, they shouldn`t rust.I actually just discussed this on Saturday, and plan on doing my own in the spring.
