I have not really posted up much about it, But we have pretty big plans for Ashley's 92 3.2 MTX. We have been slowly upgrading the car and collecting parts to have it exactly where we want it in the future. The car runs fantastic and really needs nothing on the mechanical side. The suspension has been gone through and nearly every part on the front end has been replaced. The rear only needs minor work (Bushings).

The interior will be gone through early next year. That leaves us with the Body. The paint when cleaned up shines up pretty well, But as with any Daily driven car, There are plenty of little dings and scratches. There is a spot on the roof with cracking clear coat as well. All though many people don't like Green, I think it's a GREAT looking color when kept clean. Her engine bay is relatively clean, So that will NOT be repainted, The door James we be left unpainted. I just want the car repainted the factory OEM color.

I know body work is hard to estimate but what do you guys think? What would a good QUALITY paint Job of the OEM color go for? I'm willing to spend 3,000 Dollars but not much more. Do you think that is realistic?

Yea, I was quoted $3,000 for my 94. It had door dings all over it. A lot of insurance companies went through the guy and all of his work came with a lifetime warranty. He said he would remove all the windows, bumpers, etc. He does great work. I think you could have a good job done for 3,000 bones.

Most shops that do insurance work charge insurance work rates. Theres a local here who does most of the used cars in the area and does very nice work for a very fair price. I know you want it done right, but it couldn't hurt to look around first.

After you get it painted, you'll probably wish you had done the jambs and the engine bay.

Make sure they de-trim everything, lower body cladding, window trim, lights, body plastic, everything! but $3000 to paint a car is low budget, to do it right. Paint and body work is really labor intensive hence the high cost. You really get what you pay for.

This might be the case but the Jams really look fine. The engine bay is clean enough for me to really worry about it. Even if they don't look great....At least the body will be right where we want it.

Mine didnt look to bad just wished i would have done them. Underhood wasnt to bad cause you couldnt really see alot i ended up just taking the time and rubbing the jams out with compound and a coat of wax to give them a shine.
